/files/MCC, Sept, '07, 144.jpgWhen Titus Gehman, Bowmansville, Pa., retired he wanted to volunteer his time. He kept thinking about Mennonite Central Committee’s Material Resources Center (MRC) in Ephrata, but all he knew about it was that ladies went there to quilt. Meanwhile, MRC staff obtained a rug loom and was praying for a volunteer to run it.  Titus could not get MRC out of his mind and finally decided to stop in and investigate it for himself. The staff was very excited to see him, exclaiming, "Where have you been? We've been praying for you!" For the next 23 years, Titus spent three days each week faithfully weaving wonderful rugs from recycled corduroy and denim jeans.  It is estimated he wove 11,000 during this time at the loom.  Now he has ended his time at the loom.  MCC is grateful to him for his work and PA Relief Sale is happy to offer the final rug for auction.
